Verdetto

Press kit

Everything needed to describe Verdetto accurately, in one place. Quote freely; the sentence below is the one we use everywhere.

In one sentence. Verdetto is a free QR code and barcode scanner for Android with no ads and no fake buttons. It shows the link before it opens, is built to read damaged codes, and checks scanned content for warning signs on the phone. It never says anything is safe: "No warnings found" means none of its checks matched.

Boilerplate

Verdetto: QR & Barcode Scanner is a free Android app from Verdetto, a one-person software business in Alexandria, Virginia. It reads QR codes and barcodes, including damaged ones, shows the person exactly what a code contains before anything opens, and checks links, Wi-Fi networks, payment addresses, and phone numbers for known warning signs on the phone itself. Its list of known phishing and scam entries is compiled in the open from public feeds and verified on the device. The app has no ads, no accounts, and no analytics; an optional one-time contribution supports development, and nothing is locked behind it. Verdetto is pronounced "ver-DET-oh" and is Italian for verdict.
