See the link before it opens.
A QR and barcode scanner for Android with no ads and no fake buttons. It shows what a code holds, checks it on your phone, and leaves the decision to you.
Coming soon to Google PlayFree and ad-free because the people who use it pay for it. How that works
What it does
Look before it opens
Nothing opens by itself unless you turn that on. You see the link first, with the site name on the button.
Checked on your phone
Hidden sign-ins, lookalike names, short links, downloads, open networks, numbers that charge you, and a warning list, all offline. The full list is in the Terms.
Built for damaged codes
Faded, torn, and badly printed QR, EAN, UPC, Code 128, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, and more.
Free, no ads, nothing collected
Nothing to sell and nothing collected. Every feature is free for everyone; the people who use it keep it that way.
Everything it does
A warning list on the phone
Links, sites, and wallet addresses are compared with known phishing, malware, scam, and sanctions entries, refreshed daily when online lookups are on.
Looks things up
Product, book, medicine, music, magazine, and vehicle numbers go to the open database that covers each, only when online lookups are on. The privacy policy names them. A vehicle number also brings recall campaigns, crash-test ratings, and fuel economy from NHTSA and the EPA.
History that is yours
On your phone, searchable, starrable, deletable with a swipe. Scans older than 90 days clear unless starred.
Works offline
Every built-in check runs on the phone, and an ID or license scan never leaves it. One switch turns the online lookups off, and product lookups have a switch of their own.
Made for the hand
Quick Settings tile, batch mode, left-handed layout, results read aloud, a boarding pass at the gate, your own codes. Eleven languages.
Why another QR scanner
Most free scanners are ad-supported, and some hide a fake button in the ad. Most open a link the moment they read it. Verdetto does neither. It is made by one person in Alexandria, Virginia; write any time: support@verdettoqr.com.
What it will never tell you
That something is safe. "No warnings found" means none of its checks matched; opening is your call. How to check a link yourself.
